Synch vs Asynch
« on: September 23, 2010, 04:17:26 PM »
I'm just about to start attempting 3D and was surfing over previous threads for tips for when my new diabs arrive.
there was alot of talk about synch and asynch.  I know what these are...
but what are the advantages of both?

When doing 2d I always do asynch and don't see the point in doing synch.

Basically... after that garbled mess... what are the advantages and disadvantages of each technique?

There is some nice synch styles that do look quite nice ;)
But overall i would go for asynch too.

Learn whatever. Once you can shuffle then you will quickly learn how to change from Sync to Async.

Both indeed. Also depends on how you shuffle 2d. If you shuffle 2d in asynch I guess that movement feels more natural (and vice versa).

I can't think of anyone i've ever seen that uses a sync pattern for 2D.

Quite some people do, it just doens's show as much as it does with 3d. Still, also for 2d it is ugly most of the time.

My opinion is that Async is more practical for most tricks. However, I do love the look of some Syncs, so I always use a synch/barely-async shuffle and whenever I need to pop or something, I just build the shuffle up into an async.

I really don't think that shuffle style has an impact on tricks. I can sync shuffle and pop a fts or whatever with no transition to async.
