Geko Diabolo Handsticks?
« on: October 12, 2010, 10:48:22 PM »
My MB xtreme sticks just broke and I went to the HB website to buy some more, and I see they don't carry them anymore (either that or its out of stock). They also stock new sticks called the Geko Diabolo handsticks, which I'd never seen before.

Now I'm debating which sticks to buy next, between the Taibolo carbons, or the Sundia carbon, or if anyone knows anything about those geko sticks.

I REALLY like the MB xtreme, so which ever has the most similar feel is what I'd like to get.

Thanks

I think they're by Play ( http://www.playjuggling.com/diabolos/astro/gek-stk-all.html ). It's hard to go too wrong with aluminum (as long as they aren't too big, and these look to be about the same weight as the Xtremes). The handles do look quite narrow on those, but who knows, maybe they're nice like that. Play does make some other nice juggling products, albeit sometimes somewhat 'inspired' by other companies' designs and improved upon.

Did the tips break on your Xtremes? You can order replacement bits (depending on the version of your sticks). People here (or Higgins) could help you determine the version.

I definitely enjoy the aluminum sticks. I was just wondering if anyone had any first hand experience, or anything negative to say about them

Sort of...they broke, and I actually managed to fix them with a motor apoxy, but they started loosening up and I accidently pushed the plastic piece into the stick, and now it really wont budge.

Gekos... I used them for a bit. Not bad, actually, look really nice for Integrals. Like allys, not so good for magic knots, but that's it.

I'd Get Xtremes instead though :)

well now I can't decide :(

If anyone knows another good site that stocks them and delivers to ontario I'd consider getting the xtremes again.

You should buy the Henry's Carbon or Henry's Glassfiber.

Unless they are many years old (and therefore 1st generation Xtremes) the ends are replaceable. Ask Higgins or a couple other stores if they have the replacements. Your other option within Canada is Goudurix: http://www.goudurix.com/produits_detail.php?ID=64&Ref=19

Otherwise look in the US or UK. They will all ship to Ontario (a province in Canada for any international folk that are wondering).

Henrys Fiberglass sticks would be very different than aluminum Xtremes.

I might order from goudirix, but the only problem is my cousin wants to order some finesse, and they're more expensive from them, and G2.

We're trying to share an order so we save on shipping.
