Henrys Aluminium Sticks

I've had my henrys sticks for about 6 months, as much as I do love them I've noticed a couple of issue's and wondered if anyone had experienced or had an answers/solutions.

1. At the tips of the sticks where the string starts, the string goes dark, kind of greasy looking and eventually frays and breaks.
2. OK so at the other end of the sticks the foam handles seem to be gradually coming off the sticks.

1. Is this normal and could I maybe add a bit of electrical tape or the like around the string to stop this darkening/weakening?
2. Is this normal and can I just slip (with force) the handle back, or would it get worse if left?

Any advice would be appreciated.

this happens with all sticks. i don't think there is any way to avoid it, tape probably won't help.

Unless your stickends have nicks from drops (remove with flie or wet/dry paper) then usually the string is past it by the time it will snap at the end.
I try and tie my string so it will rotate in the stickend and I look after the ends so I rarely snap the string before I have replaced it anyway.

Other end, I've never had a real problem there. Theres some wear there from drops, which might have been worse if I didn't avoid dropping equipment over rough ground.
Tbh I'm not sure if you mean the handle are slipping of or wearing away. and if wearing away if you mean quite a bit or just what would stand to reason.

There are a few dents and nicks but that's fine.
The handles are slipping off, not dramatically. I mean the handle and the metal used to be flush but now the metal is disappearing in to the handle, I'm only talking millimeter's, I know this is nothing to worry about and doesn't effect play just wondered if this was normal.

They don't move much as a rule, unless they're slipping badly it wouldn't worry me

i've found that with mine as well, they suddenly snap sometimes, and that was with 1 day old string, although the string was frayed, and the diabolo rolled up it really fast, causing tons of force - really annoying

Assuming you meant the string snapped

From new the ends can have a sharp radius which wears down over time (the grey stuff on the strings). A sharp radius can fray the string that leads to breaks (as can excessive force or twisting of the string from slack technique)
Main string wear tends to be from nicks. Nicks and sharp radius takes very little fixing with wet/dry paper or a file.
