Hey Guys,

I'm planning of doing a solo talk for my English class on "The Diabolo" but I need some answers to these questions:

1.The creation of the diabolo
2.Famous Diaboloists
3.Kind of Diabolos (monobolo, clutch ball-bearing, fixed axle)
4.Styles of Diaboloing (1d, 2d, 3d...)


If you have any answers, then please share them with me.

Anyway, I will tell you that (according to a MR Babache thingy that came with some diabolo) diabolo was invented by the chinese a long time ago. It made a very loud noise when span, simalar to the bearing, I guess. Then some europeans got it and called it the Diaballo, greek for throw across, or something along those lines.

maybe try double check that info though, it was from something I read a very long time ago. I have a sketchy memory for these kind of things.

I have tried Google, The d.ca search bar and wikipedia but I cant find the answers to the questions above.

You have to read the page. Closing your eyes and waving your hands around doesn't yield results. On the wikipedia page, there are specific sections for everything, except famous diaboloists, but it does list a few names. Famous diaboloists, you just look on youtube, top 20 diabolo videos.

Use your common sence (if you have one...). Who do you know as legendary diaboloists? You're a diaboloist yourself, you should know this. (My bids are mainly the Mad French Possé, Sean and so on.)

For a start I've only been Diaboloing for 3/4 of a year and I'm 14 years old + the only famous diaboloist I know is Ryo Yabe (sorry for all the other famous ones out there).

i started seriously diaboling last summer and i can tell you more than that just from reading the forum.
mad french posse ryo yabe sean arjan the sharpes etc. diabolo comes from the words dia (throw) and bolo (across)_ in greek i think but not too sure.
and theres also whistle diabolos which were the first (the ones which made such a loud noise as you explained before) these have wholes in there disk shape cups which move the air making it whistle.

When I did some searching about diabolo history while back I was really disappointed. Information is really scattered and not even wikipedia article has it as good as I hoped.
