Sundia "Traditional" Monobolo, UFO Yo-yo?

I'm new to diabolos and also want to try out the monobolo. Maybe I'm jumping the gun here as they are technically harder. Anyway, I came across those whistling/humming monobolos put out by Sundia, branded as a "Traditional Monobolo" but am curious about their durability. Looking at the whistle mechinism, I'm honestly not sure if it could take a beating or if it would end up shattering from a missed toss. The other one I was looking at that has the 1-way bearing is the UFO Yo Yo. Again, I'm not sure how these hold up. Anyone try any of these mono's? Or even try Sundia's traditional diabolo (which I believe also has the whistle rims as well)? In the mean time, gotta keep practicing on my accelerations.

It's this naming issue again. Monobolo is balanced version with two axles. Sundia one's are not balanced.  If you're interested read more about the naming thing here: http://diabolo.ca/forum/index.php?topic=8545.msg99186

But it's really not your fault that resellers have picked up a trendy and cool name which was first used to describe Jürgens design. There's still quite a few of us who would love to still honor the both Eastern and Western traditions. So we are quite picky about the naming.

Both versions are quite durable, just avoid concrete and you will do just fine. Only time's i've broken something was on asphalt or in extreme cold conditions (-26 celsius when dropped to hard floor).

JC I apologies for any doubt I had about your comment, I stand corrected. The monobolo is a real interesting bit of kit you developed there, I'd love to get my hands on one.

No worries. I love playing both products. Sundia ones are nice and easy once you get over all the work and difficulty of speeding it up. When you can get speed for sundia it's easy to handle because of bearings and you being able to grab it from the small nub.

Monobolo however works straight away just give little spin with your hand and speed up like normal diabolo. And when you want to make it turn around just switch axles. I do believe there's a place for everything. And both products are well done. Also I love the fact that even If you get tired playing with monobolo you can get two sets of hubs to your Henry's Circus diabolo (or Finesse if you ask for this certain pair of adjustment pieces from JC). So basically what I mean is. If you buy monobolo you can later disassemble it and use it to have two new kits, lighter kid and widerlighter kit.

I do belive the sundia model has a hubstack like mechinism in the cup correct? if so I could be possable to make hubstacks for a sundia fly diabolo! by buying 2 sundia "monobolos"(dunno what else to call them sorry) and dissassemble them!
