A festival dedicated to juggling videos and photographs
« on: September 26, 2010, 04:15:00 PM »
Hi there,

I will just paste the message I just posted on Jugglingdb, my english being not good enough to express myself differently each time :p But as a lot of videos come from here, I thought it was useful to post the message here too. Hope you'll like it.

Looking for new way to promote juggling, we decided to launch a festival
of juggling videos and juggling photographs during the convention we have
been organizing for a few years now (Bigoud'N Jongle Convention, 2011
French juggling Convention by the way, but more on that later).

The aim is to encourage the production of video and photo with more than
just juggling skills, since those medias (medium?) allow a lot of artistic
possibilities. The aim is also to enjoy, have fun, and share together
another juggling moment.

if you are on facebook you may join us here :!/event.php?eid=151656401535526&ref=mf

If not, here is what is online to this day :

The Bigoud'N Jongle Convention is pleased to anounce the first
international festival of juggling movies and photographs. This event aims
at promoting juggling through various medium other than the usual stage.

The best works will be broadcast on a special night during the Bigoud'N
Jongle Convention (10-17th July 2011, French Juggling Convention).

Two categories are proposed at this time :

- Best juggling movie.
- Best Juggling picture.

Note that videos and pictures are considered here as medium for artistic
expression. The work on the image is as important (if not more) as the
juggling itself.

7 awards are to be given :

- the gold palmassue for the best video, with 2 pass for the 2011 EJC.
- the silver palmassue for the second best video, with 2 pass for a
convention (40€ max per pass).
- the jury award for the best picture, with 1 pass for the 2011 EJC
- the public award for the best video, with 5 silX balls.
- the public award for the best picture, with 5 silX balls.

The author can either be a person or a group of persons.

The movies must not exceed 8 minutes.

Your presence at the convention is not required to participate. However,
the pictures/videos mustn't be broadcast before July 10th 2011.

Send your work to our mail before May 31st :

Have fun!

Anyway, I hope you'll like the idea and maybe will participate.
