VotW: August 22-28, Sean
« on: August 22, 2005, 02:33:30 AM »
This week I'll jump in myself with a little extension on a trick from the "Smile" video. It's a single, double, and triple version of the trick I'll call the "propellor" (unless someone comes up with a more creative name :) ).

Hopefully many of you will find this a doable and fun trick.

Enjoy...

Nice trick Sean :) Maybe you can call it 'infinite suicide propeller', or something like that? There already are 2 tricks named 'propeller'. Confusing huh?

How bout infinite duicide? or the whirlpool or something, since there are other tricks named propeller, just like Martijn said.

I'm all for the hyperbolic, over the top names like "Flying Handsticks of Death" or "Whirling Dervish".  I guess another term is needed when you hold onto the diabolo, kinda like "integral" is when you hold the string.  Though I guess not many people thought of holding onto the diabolo, kinda defies the point a lil.  Looks real nifty though!

i like this trick sean, it shows off a newer category-- "diabolo in hand" tricks which are smooth and show a flow (like if they were a finger grind or something). there really needs to be a name for it...the new bertrand/dai video has a great diabolo in hand trick too.

I like the 'Infinite Duicide' Idea too, but its probably not infinite, so 'Semi-Infinite Duicide' would be more fitting. Very nice trick though.

Sod that name, the only name I'll ever think of when I do that trick is "Whirling Dervish"! And thanks for the great trick. I haven't tried it yet, but I plan to, and I think that will be the first trick of the week I will have even tried so far.
