I've been practising to The Cat Empire recently, I like to practise to up-beat fast tempo music for some reason, but I don't think it's for everyone.

You sir are bang on there. The Cat Empire SHOULD be for everyone. Fun, fast, funny, and amasing (key next to x doesnt work) live. have a quick look at their myspace if you;re a fun of upbeat funky latin ska/reggae.  I love em almost as much as Newton Faulkner who unfortunately doesnt suit a diabolo routine but is an almightly songwriter.

More on topic, Im still waiting for someone to use some classic dub like king tubby, lee perry or augustus pablo in a video.  with so much consistent beat i cant see why it isnt more popular.  maybe its time to break the trend  ;)

I seem to like techno/electronic DDR songs a lot, like Where's my Samurai (Butterfly) by Smile.DK, Bumble Bee, and Xepher.

You guys might not necessarily like the videos, but it's about the songs ;).
And I was just looking for something on youtube that had good audio quality :D

Butterfly:

Bumble Bee:

Xepher:

Although I think Xepher gets too fast, so I don't use it that often while diaboloing.

Well, I really like Olobaid/Pete's stuff that him and the band he's in creates (at least I think it's his) which you can download for free off his website.

The music is in Martijn's "Liquid Lights" promo video for the GEs

Ska - everybody loves ska.
Graham

Yea, a good bitta ska, reggae or deep dub! Diaboloing to music is great if you can get that groove so I advise to play to anything & get better doing things at different speeds (to different riddums) to get better control. Thats why dubs good, slow & low! I find with faster music I get rushed & fumble a lot more.

Also, if you wanna bit of fun, try diaboloing along to Alamaailman Vasarat, Cardiacs or something crazy with time changes & such, I may try a live vidio along to Blacalicious "Alphabet Arobics one day for all you hip hoppers!

Anyway, Im off to diabolo!

My usual playlist:
Fabolous - Breathe (best!)
Gorillaz - Dirty Harry
Gorillaz - Dare
Limp Bizkit - My way
US3 - Cantaloop
Fatboy Slim - Gangster Trippin'
Armin Van Buuren - The longest day

Also Bomfunk MC's and Prodigy works well.

The Cat Empire is pretty good.
They're coming to Burnie on the 13th October.

Yeh I've seen that mob, fun good band. Burnie sounds like Darwin, any half decent band to come through are treated like gods (because its small and kind of rural), the music scene isn't that great up here.
some other good diab music:
Le Peuple De L'Herbe
Propellerheads
Shemozzle
Skatalites, Chemical Brothers, La Ruda Salska (some)
Depends on your mood so its hard to say.

Probably. But Burnie would have a lot more grass ;)

I like the stuff that the Yoshida Bros. play.
It's a mix of modern/pop music with a mix of a traditional Japanese instrument (Shamisen).

They also do some collaborating with other musicians to make other cool songs :)
Here's one:

[youtube=425,350]y07443uFw5A
http://youtube.com/watch?v=y07443uFw5A&mode=related&search=

Not incredible quality, and it's not entirely just music (it's for a TV show or something), but it's still got some nice stuff (3:50ish to 6:10ish was good)
And another one:

[youtube=425,350]rnwaS4TDyDk

This one is better quality, especially because it's a music video :P
