best maiden album is fear of the dark or maybe seventh son. I got into maiden about eight years ago and it was old fashioned then!

I listen to everything with a bit fast beat. Sometimes I listen to older music like Beatles, Kinks, Doors, ABBA.... Other times I listen to trance and just hits on the radio.

Okay, since watching a few vids around here I have kind of taken to listening to my mp3 when diabolo-ing... oddly I have found it much easier to make it look smooth and fluid when I have a rhythm to follow (despite having a lot of natural rhythm anyhow)...

Has anyone else found this? Am I just totally strange?

Yes Purplegirl,

I really like to play 1 diabolo when a nice tune pops on. Makes me push and work harder, and try to move more than I would normally do.

Just like Joey in Friends (dancing when there's no music makes you look stupid, so does singing while wearing headphones).

classical music works on diabology, it would just seem a bit odd performing to it though

I wouldn't preform to it, but just listening to it while practicing (long as its mixed up) is quite cool.

Alot of backing music to promo videos and performances benefit grateful from some powerful orchestral music.  As was said, The Matrix soundtrack does have alot of good stuff in there and also the Animatrix too.
Going through my video collection, alot of the early movies I downloaded like Jason Garfield's Promo, Norbi's Durham Rings and the Diabology trailer have strong orchestral music with well timed moves (I think the diabology freestyle section with the music from Battle Royale (can't remember the name) was particularly good, maybe the killing had something to do with it.)

Diabolo, juggling in general - good with music, and drinks, and others

Im glad the subject of music has come up. I totally agree that it is so much easier and better to diabolize to music.
There is almost a completely seperate musical genre just for diabolo!!!
Here are some of my fav music to listen to while diaboloing:

Mr Scruff - Keeping it unreal
              - Trouser Jazz
Leftfield - Leftism
            - Rhythm & Stealth
Aim - Cold Water Music
LTJ Bukem - Progression Sessions
                 - Earth vol 1 & 2
Ozric Tentacles - Any
Billy Cobham (jazz drumming legend)

To name but a few, i love making compilations to diabolize to so if any of you have any bands or trakcs that you want to recommend, please do!

Also if there is anyone in the hertfordhsire area who wants to get together with a group of diabolists for trick swapping, practice sessions, tutorials and workshops. send an email to diabolize@gmail.com
Take it easy all

theres a couple of decks set up in my house, and whilst dance music isn't really my thing a DJ friend of mine (club level) often plays some sets that are great to play about with 2 diabolos  to when i'm 'in the mood' ;)

Theres a whole  list of peoples favourite music in the other music thread so I will avoid going down that route but instead I will mention some of the tunes that have come up in videos here that have caught my ear
Us3 - flip cantaloupe: Martijns routine
Manu Chau - Bongo Bong : Yuffis clip (active sun motion)
Magic Carpet Ride (crystal method mix): mattf's videos (not just because I'm in it
Sean and JGherkin have a good ear for the music in there vids as well (and  you Norbi)

finally two tracks I have performed to and keep in my juggling bag (though I'm allways on the look for new music) are

Primal Scream- Loaded . The bit of talking to get up to speed then a nice beat.
The Cat Empire - Hello. Hip hop jazz type thing, It changes halfway through which is nice for a change from 1 to 2, a DJ mate lengthened this track for me, very handy)
